New production outfit PREP are quite simply one of the most exciting new propositions of the year. There's clearly some big names attached to the project, not every new band has AlunaGeorge, Two Inch Punch, Sinead Harnett, Chloe Martini and Nicola Roberts of Girls Aloud fame shouting about their debut track. Whoever the hip hop producer, classical composer, house DJ and singer songwriter - whose cumulative credits include Drake, Foxes and Raleigh Ritchie to name a few - actually are, their work under the PREP banner is undeniably brilliant. 'Cheapest Flight' made a huge splash, on top of the huge social media buzz, it propelled PREP to the top of the Hype Machine charts and paved the way nicely for what's to come next. That day has arrived and 'Sunburnt Through The Glass' (we see a pattern developing) is a worthy followup. Keeping to their starry philosophy to-date, the new track features backing vocals from fellow hotly-tipped acts Sabella and Chiara Hunter, whose sleek tones glide along on a current of fragrant synths, laidback sultry beats and sweet funk guitars. - DC
